What the Carrilet II route actually connects
The Carrilet II greenway connects Girona and Sant Feliu de Guíxols along a former railway corridor. Cassà’s official tourism page gives the full route as 39.7 km; that is the whole Girona–Sant Feliu route, not the distance between the coastal towns.
Choose your start and finish before calculating distance. A return ride and a one-way ride need different time and transport plans. Download the operator’s current route information and check any notices before departure.
Make the S’Agaró café stop a deliberate detour
Dirty Rabbit is at Avinguda de Platja d’Aro, 275 in S’Agaró. It is a separate stop from the greenway route: do not assume the trail runs past the door or that the connecting streets are traffic-free.
Use a current cycling route planner for the approach and carry a lock. Call before bringing a large group or relying on bicycle storage; we are not promising a workshop, secure storage or a dedicated cycle rack. Confirm kitchen service if you need food as well as coffee.
Do not substitute a coastal footpath for a cycle route
Sant Feliu tourism lists the greenway and the coastal walk as separate activities. The route towards Sant Pol is presented as a walk. Plan cycling on routes where it is permitted, and leave time to explore the coast on foot if that is part of the day.
Around Platja d’Aro, the Calas de Tramuntana itinerary links Cavall Bernat, Cala Rovira and the Pla de Palol area as a walking plan. Treat that as another visit, not a guaranteed rideable shortcut along the shoreline.
A café alternative in Platja d’Aro
La Maglia is at Carrer Juli Garreta, 10 in Platja d’Aro. Its own website has a cycling section. Check opening hours and group arrangements directly rather than assuming any café can seat a whole ride at once.
Where is Dirty Rabbit?
We have one café, in S’Agaró. There are no Dirty Rabbit branches in Begur, Girona, Platja d’Aro or the other towns in these guides.
